On Friday, March 7, 2014, beginning at 6:30 p.m., the Gettysburg Community Theatre will be hosting the Cinderella Ball in the ballroom at the Gettysburg Hotel. The event will include hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, silent auction, a professional concert, and a theatre production by the Penguin Project. The professional concert will feature singers from throughout the community, including alumni of Gettysburg College and Gettysburg Area High School, and performers from the Gettysburg Community Theatre. The Penguin Project is the theatre's newest venture, which is a theatre program for youth with disabilities as the actors.
This black tie optional event will also feature an extensive silent auction, with over 75 items up for bid. Some of the incredible items include autographed Broadway and sports memorabilia, gift baskets, An American Girl doll, theatre tickets, and even tickets to Walt Disney World.
The non-profit theatre company proudly puts on this annual tradition in an effort to help support the performing arts educational and performing opportunities they provide throughout the year. The Gettysburg Community Theatre produces 15 musical productions every year and this gala helps support their efforts.
